A brief history of XHG Tiger Motorcycle Club Ltd.

The Club was founded on 20th January 1945 by Ex-Despatch Riders of the 7th Hants Home Guard [hence XHG]. The inaugural meeting was held at The Bungalow Cafe in Somerford Road, Christchurch. Present at that meeting were 16 prospective members. With the passing of 2010 the club became an OAP!

Names proposed at the first meeting included Dog Rogers MCC [the phonetic for D.R. - now it would be Delta Romeo]; The 7 Hogs MCC; The XHG MCC and XHG Tiger MCC. XHG Tiger MCC was agreed upon and the club is affiliated to the ACU and is now a limited company.

The club newsletter/magazine, Tiger Rag, has been published on and off since 1945 and will in future be published on the XHG Tiger MCC Website.

Over the last 65 odd years the club has organised Trials; Scrambles [now called Motocross]; Grass Tracks and Enduros.

The Club is fortunate to be able to boast of many well known 'stars' throughout it's history including Ben & Des Smallshaw; Arthur & Colin Lambert; Les Maidment; Norman Ley; Don & Derek Rickman; Triss & Bryan Sharp; Jerry Scott; Ivor England; Sammy Miller plus many more and all the unsung heros through the years.

We currently organise club and Open to Centre trials and Enduros. The Enduros are organised in partnership with The Hants Police MCC.
